A NEW PATENT GRANTED TO RONGXIANG XU FOR HIS INVENTION OF “POTENTIAL REGENERATIVE CELL (PRC)”

[Chinanews.com, reported on Sept. 4] Recently, State Intellectual Property Office of P. R. China (SIPO) granted a new patent to Rongxiang Xu for his invention of “Potential Regenerative Cell (PRC)”. The existence of “PRC” means the human body has regenerative potential; that is to say, the human body has a regenerative life, and that is a fire-new life for everyone on earth. Therefore, along with the announcement of “PRC” by Rongxiang Xu in 2002, there had been much of controversy. Accordingly, Rongxiang Xu, the inventor of “PRC” was called the most controversial scientist by the media. Given the legal affirmation on Xu’s invention of “PRC” by SIPO, the 11-year disputation on “PRC” can be finally put to an end.
In order to get the whole story, a special interview was made with the patentee and inventor of “PRC”, Prof. Rongxiang Xu, chairman of board of MEBO International Group (Beijing).
Journalist: What is the role of “PRC”?
Rongxiang Xu: The human body begins with a zygote which then develops into an entity consisting of at least 60 trillion adult cells; these adult cells undergo 50-60 times of self-renewal before they gradually approach to the end of their life in the human body. During my research of skin organ regenerating in situ on human deep burn wound, I discovered that there was a type of cells with the potential of regenerative development in organs and tissues of the human body, i.e., “PRC”. “PRC” exists in the tissues of human organs as an ordinary tissue cell; however, once there are cells dying (losing function) in an organ, “PRC” will play the role of regeneration in situ by converting into pluripotent stem cell and regenerating new cells, tissues, and tissue organs in situ, and subsequently restoring the original structure and function of the organ. “PRC” can also convert into stem cells to regenerate new tissues and tissue organs when cultured in vitro. “PRC” is the most significant invention in the history of human life science, bringing human beings new regenerative lives.
Journalist: What is the relationship between “PRC” and “human regenerative stem cell”?
Rongxiang Xu: Popular speaking, “PRC” of the human body is the “mother” of “human regenerative stem cell”. Nowadays, the concept hyped by certain people with regenerative stem cells is actually the stem cell state presented by “PRC”.
Journalist: Why the disputation has lasted for so many years?
Rongxiang Xu: When I announced “PRC”, the human regenerative life entity, to the world in 2002, some of the media praised it as a big bang of human life science, which, however, was followed immediately by the overwhelming debates and arguments in the scientific community, because the emergence of such a new life entity had never occurred and mentioned in all available textbooks, common sense and research fields in the life science community at that time, that is to say, the world had no idea about any aspect of it, including scientific terms, functionality as well as methods. It is totally understandable for the scientific community having disputation and disagreement on it. At that time, a national hearing on it was held by a 15-person hearing team of professors and academicians in relevant fields, organized by the Department of Science and Technology of P.R.C. The hearing did not negate “PRC”, and thus “PRC” survived and has been in controversy over these years. The SIPO gave more scrupulous review on “PRC”, through the 11-year examination course from affirmation to negation and to affirmation again, eventually granted me the patent certificate for the invention of “PRC” on Aug. 28, 2013.
Journalist: What is the current progress of the cutting-edge life science in the world?
Rongxiang Xu: The cutting-edge life science in the world generally includes streams of human genome study, embryonic stem cell line study, somatic cell regenerating organs study and human tissue engineering. Since the discovery of double-helix structure of DNA (gene) in the mid twentieth century, it had been dreamed by humans to treat diseases by genetic modification. Unfortunately, such a cutting-edge scientific research was denied by Prof. Watson, “father of the human gene”, as of no value of application, as he claimed “sequencing genes isn't proving to be particularly useful in fighting such diseases as cancer and that much of the research being done on the subject is irrelevant”. It is therefore safe to draw a conclusion that human genome application study came to an end. Furthermore, the research on embryonic stem cell line was also called off basically due to the ethic issue. I am proud to tell my fellow countrymen that, among the cutting-edge life science studies in the current world, the only science achieving practical application is held in China, i.e., the patented scientific route of in situ human organ regenerative restoration achieved by “PRC”. Moreover, our patented scientific route of “damaged organ regeneration” was also stated as by US President Obama as the top priority of 2013 national policy of life science development.

The medical team brought skin regeneration technology and the MEBO Moist Burn Ointment and MEBO Wounds and Ulcers Dressing donated by MEBO to Central Healthcare Center of Meichuan town of Meixian. President Sun welcomed the arrival together with all medical staff. And, the experts took part in group consultation for the victims and expressed their appreciation towards their donation of drugs and the rescue efforts.
At about 4pm of July 23rd, rains started to fall in Meichuan County. And Hu Dongcai diagnosed victims in makeshift tent and taught the skin regeneration techniques and the usage methods of MEBO Moist Burn Ointment and MEBO Wounds and Ulcers Dressings. He also emphasized on the advantages of the product in coping with emergencies and bad environment. When rains turn heavy, water started to flow into tents. But, more and more victims were sent there for treatment. Hu and many other experts discussed conditions of each victims who were very satisfied about their treatment.
All medical staff was busy saving disaster relief supplies to prevent it from immersed into rains because rains turned heavier and more water flowed into tent. All members diagnosed, treated and bandaged patients. The cold weather cannot make our enthusiasm disappear. And the water will never wash away the miracles of regeneration. All MEBO staff prayed for those in quake zone.

In mid-September, 2002, a fax from New Jersey, USA gave us quite a shock. It was sent to us by Sandy Santi, the wife of Harry J. Gaynor, the President of the National Burn Victim Foundation. He had been diagnosed with esophageal cancer in July. Considering that Gaynor was now 80 years old, surgery did not seem like a good choice, so he was now receiving radiotherapy for treatment. He had experienced tremendous weight loss because of his difficulty in eating. Moreover, he became quite feeble and drowsy; sometimes he fell asleep while sitting. His doctor told him he only had four months left to live, at the most. But his wife explained that he was not going to give up and let it go easily. Even now, he was still keeping an optimistic attitude and was involved in his work of the foundation, insisting that he work in his office at least some of the time. Reading these words, I was welling up, with the image of this tall, determined senior American, this man who had devoted the latter half of his life to burn victims, to fulfill his commitment to ‘go to the end of the earth to find a solution to burn disfigurement.’ In 1989, he visited China with Dr. Anthony Barbara and his wife Helen to investigate the Moist Burn Therapy and witnessed the miraculous efficacy of Moist Exposed Burn Ointment (MEBO) in burned skin regeneration.
